Alam leads the team of professionals responsible for hotel investment advisory services in Canada and specific markets in Latin America/Caribbean. Alam’s specialized experience is in sourcing equity and debt capital for hotel and leisure investments, negotiating management and joint venture agreements, as well as valuation analysis for hotel and leisure-related assets. Since joining Colliers in 1991, Alam has been directly involved in portfolio and single asset and debt transactions with a market capitalization of over $4.6 billion, acting on behalf of REIT’s, public companies, institutional investors, opportunity/investment funds and private capital sources.

Alam’s experience includes:

  • Recognized leader in the Canadian hotel real estate market with experience spanning a multitude of lodging property types and classes across the country.
  • Current member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, represented by some 200 of the industry's most respected professionals from across six continents.
  • Hotel and leisure consultant with Laventhol & Horwath, where he advised clients on development, valuation and strategic planning in the lodging industry.
  • Guest speaker and moderator at numerous industry conferences, market updates and other engagements, in addition to being widely quoted in the media.
  • Various operations capacities with hotel companies and a private real estate investment/development company.

Tom Andrews

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
Tom has been with Colliers for over 25 years and during this period has held senior management positions including Vice President, International Offices. He has played a key role in the growth and development of Colliers International Hotels in Western Canada and is recognized as a leader in the Vancouver real estate community.

Tom’s experience includes:

  • Specializing in the sale of full service resorts and hotels for the last 15 years and is actively involved in the hotel and resort real estate market in the Greater Vancouver Area and throughout Western Canada.
  • He has developed strong relationships with investors in Asia Pacific, particularly Japan and Hong Kong, and his long-standing connections within Western Canada give him a unique level of contact with major investors.
  • He continues to foster key relationships through advising the major active buyers and sellers in Canada, creating significant value for these clients in a number of challenging situations.
  • Tom speaks periodically on the lodging industry throughout North America.

Karen Pun

PROJECT COORDINATOR
Karen works directly with the hotel group, coordinating the activities of our Toronto and Vancouver offices. She provides the critical support needed in all aspects of our day-to-day operations, assists with research and marketing tasks and champions internal processes and projects. Karen has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto and is a recent graduate of Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University where she assisted with raising the profile of the School's published research, including studies of wine tourism in Southwestern Ontario and culinary tourism in the Prince Edward County region.

Robin McLuskie

ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT
Robin joined Colliers in 2003 and is responsible for underwriting and managing due diligence efforts for Colliers’ hotel real estate listings across Canada, as well as preparing valuations and investment memoranda. In her capacity as Associate Vice President, she focuses on client management and acts as a liaison between buyers and sellers, coordinating all information requirements to ensure a streamlined and efficient process that meets set timelines. 

Robin’s experience includes:

  • Valuations of over $1 billion worth of hotel real estate investments across Canada and parts of the Caribbean, with a specialized breadth of knowledge on the dynamics of the financial and operational aspects of real estate investments, asset management and management contracts.
  • Specializing in hotel due diligence, she completes a thorough pre-marketing due diligence program at the onset of each listing to become fully knowledgeable of the Property, allowing the Team to effectively highlight strengths and opportunities, and pro-actively mitigate any negative factors that may occur during the sale process.
  • Co-authors and helps manage the production of the quarterly INNvestment Canada Newsletter and annual Canadian Hotel Investment Report. She is also a guest writer for Global Hotel Network and Hotelier Magazine.
  • Member of the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals (“CAAMP”).
  • Advanced Certification in Hotel Real Estate and Hotel Investments - Cornell University - 2010.
  • Graduated from Ryerson University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management program in 2005 and studied abroad in Auckland, New Zealand.

Russell Beaudry

SENIOR ANALYST
Providing support to advisory and brokerage activities, Russell coordinates on-set due diligence and the preparation of reports and marketing materials. He has assisted in a variety of advisory assignments for clients across Canada and in the Caribbean, including market and feasibility studies, valuations and operational reviews. Russell also leads Colliers’ national hospitality research initiatives, including the production of the annual Canadian Hotel Investment Report and quarterly INNvestment Canada newsletters, which are distributed to clients and available for download at www.colliershotels.com/research.

Russell’s experience includes:

  • Manages Colliers’ national supply database, tracking the development of new hotel construction projects.
  • Liases with local cities and towns and gathers timely intelligence from a variety of reputable sources to ensure the accurate analysis of economic and market trends.
  • Responsible for Colliers’ national hotel press and media relations strategies.
  • Operational and management experience with Marriott International and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in the rooms and food and beverage divisions, including completing Four Seasons’ intensive Manager-in-Training (“MIT”) program.
  • Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University, specializing in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
